The multi-skilled Soldiers, Combat Engineers and Tradesmen work closely with all parts of the army playing a vital role in the effectiveness of the British Army.
The Royal Engineers Rugby Club play at Gibraltar Barracks home of 3 RSME Regiment home of the Royal Engineers training depot, sponsored by Hesco, they are in conjunction with the Royal Artillery RFC the oldest service rugby club founded in 1889.
Sapperrugby are now in the building stage for the forthcoming 2019/20 season. With plenty of new talent rising through to the Senior Corps team in recent years, the Sappers will look to challenge a tough field once again for the Corps Trophy this Season.
Team Manager Stephen Smith & Adrian Williams (Director of Rugby) look to continue the momentum to take Sapper Rugby to the next level with Head Coach Nathan Young and his Coaching staff. The club continues to support players in development, with many routinely succeeding in representing at full or junior Army level. A number of players play for civilian clubs at National and Junior status.
